John Stevens Sensei, 7th Dan Aikikai August 2-4 2013

Masatake Dojo (Aikikai) is honoured to host a seminar with John Stevens Sensei, 7th Dan Aikikai: Professor of Buddhist Studies from Tohoku University in Japan. One of the only experts on Aikido's kotodama (kototama) and Misogi No Ken & Jo.

This is his second visit in Israel.

Excellent news: In addition to Stevens Sensei's Aikido classes, there will be a special Zen and Calligraphy (shodo) workshop on Friday August 9th.

Stevens Sensei is a professor of buddhist studies from a university in Japan... he is a top expert on zen calligraphy.

About: John Stevens Sensei lived in Japan for thirty-five years, where he was a professor of Buddhist studies at Tohoku Fukushi University in Sendai. Stevens Sensei is a widely respected translator, an ordained Buddhist priest, a curator of several major exhibitions of Zen art, and an aikido instructor. He has authored more than thirty books and is one of the foremost Western experts on aikido, holding a ranking of 7th dan Aikikai. Stevens Sensei has also studied calligraphy for decades, authoring the classic Sacred Calligraphy of the East.
